We became Digital Champions, and you could too!
Did you know that 53% of local government workers have said that new computers or equipment had come into their workplace in the last three years?
This is just one of many reasons to get more digitally confident to help you and those around you. On the 11th of February, UNISON Southampton District branch put on a Digital Champions training day for seven members. They learnt how to support others with their digital skills in order to help them with important activities, such as:
- Finding a job
- Paying bills via online banking
- Opening up an email account
- Talking to friends and family using Skype
- Ordering online groceries
- Purchasing an item from an online store
- Checking a payslip
Attendees were trained on how to support their friends, family, and colleagues digitally, whilst meeting new people on the course and growing in confidence as a group.
If you would like to learn something new, brush up on some old skills, or help others with their IT then please contact the branch.
